In the meantime, here’s what we already know:
Key Features of the Program
Total Budget: A total of HUF 440 billion in funding will be available, spread across 10 different grant opportunities.
Supported Areas
- Energy Efficiency Investments: An estimated HUF 270 billion will be allocated for businesses to improve building insulation and enhance the energy efficiency of manufacturing processes. It is currently uncertain whether the procurement of new, more modern, and energy-efficient machines can be funded independently within the framework of energy efficiency developments, or if the support is only available in combination with building insulation. The expected funding intensity is 40-50%.
- Energy Storage: Companies can apply for funding to establish energy storage systems, ensuring that solar energy produced during the day can be utilized later. It is expected that only businesses that already have solar power capacity will be eligible.
- Renewable Energy Sources: In addition to solar energy, the program will also support the production of biogas and biomethane. The target applicants for this category are expected to be businesses specializing in this field.
- District Heating System Modernization: District heating providers will have the opportunity to apply for funding to green and modernize their systems.
